Rotterdam is an municipality and city in the Dutch province of South-Holland, located in the west of The Netherlands and part of the Randstad.

A dam on the Rotte or 'Rotterdam' was built in the 1260s and is located at the present-day Hoogstraat or “High Street”. The port of Rotterdam is the largest in Europe. The area around metrostation Blaak known as the "Oude haven“ (Old Harbour), is has a variety of bars and restaurants.

Rotterdam is known as a city of architecture with an extraordinary collection of buildings - from Piet Blom's cube houses to the Erasmus bridge. The city centre offers a complete overview of what the twentieth century has produced in terms of modern architecture.

Nightlife in Rotterdam is extremely various, with different subculture s in the city. The ‘Oude Haven' close to the 'Kubuswoningen' and the main market square 'Blaak' is the local attraction for business, economic and law students. The cafés and restaurants in the Oude Haven are located around the harbour.

Main attractions include Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Kunsthal, Maritime Museum, Museum Het Schielandshuis, Rotterdam Zoo, Euromast, Erasmus Bridge visit the Cubic Houses.
