Oxford is home to the oldest university city in England, situated 80 km to the west of London in its own county of Oxfordshire, and located on the rivers Thames and Cherwell.

The main research library of the University of Oxford, The Bodleian is one of the oldest libraries in Europe .

Oxford hosts a number of London productions on tour, as well as playing host to a large number of student productions each year. Oxford has a lively student-drama scene. Many bars and clubs can also be found here along with the nearby Westgate Shopping Centre.

Main attractions include Hertford Bridge, a quaint pedestrian bridge for the students of Hertford College which has popularly become known as the "Bridge of Sighs" of Oxford, Sheldonian Theatre and University Church of St Mary the Virgin, where some of the best views of Oxford are afforded from the tower of the church, The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, The Pitt Rivers Museum, The Museum of Oxford, Modern Art Oxford and the University of Oxford Botanical Gardens.
