Milan is the second largest city in Italy, located in the plains of Lombardy. Linate is situated just on the outskirts of the city, fifteen minutes away from the centre of town.

Milan is the capital in the Province of Milan, as well as the regional capital of Lombardy. Milan is home to two world-famous football teams: A.C. Milan and F.C. Internazionale Milano. The former is normally referred to as "Mìlan”. Many famous Italian football players were born in Milan, in the surrounding metropolitan area, or in Lombardy. Some famous Milan-born players include: Valentino Mazzola, Paolo Maldini, Giuseppe Meazza, Giovanni Trapattoni as well as many others.

The famous Monza Formula One circuit is located near the city, inside a wide park. It is one of the world's oldest car racing circuits.

It is known as one of the world capitals of design and fashion and is the home to five universities and the intense publishing activity. A modern yet timeless city, with many futuristic constructions such as the famous Pirelli skyscraper side by side with very important monuments, the first among them are the Duomo, Sforzesco Castle and the Basilica di S. Ambrogio.

Main attractions include the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo, reputed to be the world's oldest shopping mall, Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Giuseppe Meazza San Siro stadium, Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology and The Fashion District.
