Luxembourg
Luxembourg is a small, landlocked country in western Europe. Luxembourg city is the Capital of the Grand Duchy of
Luxembourg, a small and very picturesque region located in between Belgium, Germany and France.
Luxembourg is a founding member of the European Union, NATO, OECD, the United Nations, Benelux, and the Western European Union, reflecting the political consensus in favour of economic, political, and military integration. The city of Luxembourg, the capital and largest city, is the seat of several institutions and agencies of the European Union.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg thinks has wineries strung along the Moselle, spiky castles speckling hillsides and glass-fronted skyscrapers glinting in the capital, dense forests, deep gorges and red rocks.
The City of Luxembourg is largely a pedestrian zone and green space. The vast green spaces in the Pétrusse Valley and the City Gardens as well as the historical city centre-transformed almost completely into a pedestrian zone- provide visitors with leisure experience, cultural experience and comfortable shopping. The main shopping in Luxembourg City can be found around the Auchan shopping center on Kirchberg. Also worth a sample are the Luxembourg chocolates, called knippercher.
Main attractions include the many museums, castles and fortifications, such as Bock Casemates, Pétrusse Casemates, miniature model of the fortress at the Rathskeller, Remains of Luxembourg castle the Grand Ducal Palace, the National Museum of History and Art and St. Michael's church.
