Cannes is situated in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in southeastern France.

Cannes is one of the best-known cities of the French Riviera, the Jewel in the crown of the "Côte d'Azur". It is famous for its good climate, the luxurious hotels, glamorous villas, cars, beaches, the "port du Cannes" and myriad of visitors. Cannes is very famous and has become well-known among jet-setters, aristocrat and famous celebrities as the city hosts many significant events including the annual Cannes Film Festival. You couldn't dream of a place more like paradise than Cannes.

Cannes summers are long and hot, with summer daytime temperatures regularly hitting 40°C, while average temperatures are about 25°C. Temperatures remain high from June to September, the busiest time of the year. Despite the hot daytime temperatures, a Mediterranean breeze keeps summer evenings comfortably cool. Winter temperatures drop below 10°C for only three months of the year (December to February). The spring and autumn are also warm, although more suited to those who prefer slightly cooler weather.

La Croisette is the waterfront avenue with palm trees known for picturesque beaches and for restaurants, cafés and boutiques. La Suquet, the old town, provides a good view of La Croisette. You can visit museums, historical buildings, churches, beaches, parks and other fantastic places.

Main attractions include La Croisette and La Pointe-Croisette, Le Centre-ville (town center) , Le Vieux Port & Le Suquet (the old port & the hill). Musée de la Castre, La Malmaison , and Rue d'Antibes for designer shopping.
